Meet the Founders of GPN, and get to know what drove them to create this project.

Garrett Atkins (@GarrettEAtkins)

Chief Executive Officer

Garrett Atkins is a serial entrepreneur, with ownership in five ventures across multiple industries. Alongside his passion for business, and dating much further back, is his passion for the video game industry, video gaming, and video game journalism. With years of business and gaming experience, Garrett is the strategic visionary behind all things GPN (and beyond).

Dhayana Sena (@MissDeusGeek)

Chief Diversity Officer

Dhayana, also known by her online persona ‘MissDeusGeek’, is a South Asian/ South East Asian gaming influencer in Australia and New Zealand (“ANZ”). Dhayana is the first Xbox MVP for the ANZ region, who has also been included in Xbox’s Hall of Fame, and works closely with the global Xbox team as an ANZ representative, providing feedback and helping to improve the Xbox gaming platform.

Favorite Games: Rise of the Tomb Raider, Uncharted 2, Mortal Kombat (franchise), Gears 5

Alex Dietrich (@alex_s_dietrich)

Chief Operating Officer

Alex Dietrich, known as ‘Dietz’ for short – is a serial entrepreneur based out of St. Louis, Missouri. Alex’s passion for gaming started at around age six (6), which ultimately lead to his decision to learn how to create games of his own — combining his knowledge of Games, Design, Business, and Marketing. Now, he’s exactly where he needs to be.

Mike Szoke (@MikeSzoke)

Editor-in-Chief

Mike Szoke is one of the founders and the Editor-in-Chief of GPN. They started gaming with the original Xbox but growing up, they had access to all platforms. Their love for Xbox never stopped, which helped push them to pursue their dream of working in the gaming industry.

Favorite Games: Resident Evil 4, Yakuza 0, Persona 5 Royal

Kyle Laubacker (@KyleLaubacker)

Chief of Staff

Kyle Laubacker has spent the last several years doing research in the field of psychology and behavioral neuroscience, but gaming has always been the place he’s called home. His love for gaming started early on with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES. This love has grown into a life long passion and now has culminated in helping GPN leave its mark on the industry.

Article Lead

Odhrán is from Dublin, Ireland and has a passion for everything games related, be it the biggest AAA title to the smallest indie gem.

Oliver Brown

Article Lead

Oliver Brown is a trained actor & writer based in London. He was given a hand-me-down Master System as a child and immediately fell in love with videogames! Having a great passion for the industry & writing about it, he is thrilled to have found a home with GPN.

Favorite Games: Shenmue 1 & 2, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Witcher 3

Kane Hocking

Article Lead

Kane is from Cardiff, Wales and has been playing games for as long as he can remember. Being quite partial to an RPG, Kane is used to taking up roles and has brought this to GPN where he acts as a lead editor as well as a video producer.

Richard

Article Lead

Richard fell in love with gaming since the Gameboy era and after owning most consoles, his taste in games can sometimes be questionable yet varied. Now a proud owner of an Xbox Series X, his time is spent adding more games to his backlog thanks to Game Pass.

Favorite Games: Splatoon 2, Gears of War 3 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Liv Harris

Liv Harris is a Freelance Journalist by trade and an avid gamer. She enjoys rock climbing, cooking and obscure TV shows. In her free time she writes for a number of publications online and makes fan art of various franchises online.

I guess you can say that I’m a video game veteran, gaming since I was a small child on the Atari 2600. Art and graphic design is also a major part of my life and also became my career path. I have worked at large studios such as EA as well as smaller studios. I have also freelanced for companies such as Red Bull, Disney, and the Anaheim Ducks. Gaming is a great way to meet people and I couldn’t be more happy being a part of this talented team.

Favorite Games: The Legend of Zelda (series), God of War, Halo and Forza Horizon

Bryan McHenry

Social Lead

Bryan has been playing video games since his dad brought home an Atari 2600. The first games he remembers playing are Space Invaders and Ice Hockey. He’s a fan of all games, and consoles. When he’s not playing games he spends time with his wife and son.

Unboxed With Josh

Social Lead

Gaming has always been an important part of Josh’s life since he was 4. Josh has always enjoyed playing games on each system, but when the Xbox released in 2001 he fell in love. Josh also has a passion for taking photographs of the latest gaming, and Pop culture collectibles under the username UnboxedWithJosh on most Social pages.
