Rejoice PC players, for Xbox is bringing new updates to the PC experience on the Xbox app! Some of these updates are currently in testing for Xbox insiders, but will be coming soon to all players soon.

The first improvement is being able to choose install locations, with this PC players will be able to view the games files easier now. With this change also brings in easier mod support, as players will be able to change their save files on the spot. PC is famously known for its modding capabilities, games with that capacity will be noted with an icon and text marking it as a game with mod support. These changes are for insiders only; and in order to test this functionality soon download the Xbox insider hub in the windows store, select the previews tab, and click on the ‘Windows Gaming’ option. That should allow you to experience these changes early.

The next update that is currently out for all users is the new cloud gaming function. Late last month Xbox rolled out cloud gaming to all Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, we did a first impressions of cloud gaming if you’d like to know more. The service works just as well on PC as it does on console, so give it a whirl and try some games you’d never download before. Also coming to all users is the ability to turn off auto-HDR, for those times where you think it doesn’t quite look right.

In the future, Xbox is looking to make the transition for cross-play even more seamless, no concrete information yet but they do say they will be working with developers to make this happen.

That’s it from Xbox, so go out and try those new features and keep on gaming.
